The Team
At Wolferstans, the Clinical Negligence Department only represent the victims of medical accidents. Each member of the team is a specialist who has considerable experience in dealing with these complex and sensitive claims.
Partners

Simon Parford is the Partner in charge of the Clinical Negligence Department. He is an Assessor for and a Member of The Law Society Clinical Negligence Specialist Panel, a Member of AvMA's Solicitors' Referral Panel and a Member of The Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. He specialises in birth injury cases, acting for children and young adults who have cerebral palsy as a result of difficulties experienced at the time of their birth.
Simon's appointment as an Assessor for The Law Society Clinical Negligence Specialist Panel recognises his degree of expertise. He is one of only 16 Solicitors in England and Wales who have been appointed to assess the applications of other Solicitors who wish to join the specialist panel.
He is also acknowledged as a leading expert in both The Chambers Directory and the Legal 500 Guides to the Legal Profession.

Samantha Buckthought is a Partner. She is a Member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. She handles all types of clinical negligence claims and specialises in claims involving spinal and neurological injuries, in which she has a particular interest. She also has extensive experience of cases involving damage to eyesight, gynaecological and obstetric cases, all aspects of surgery and cases where there has been a delayed or missed diagnosis.
Senior Solicitors

Jill Burrows is a Senior Solicitor. She trained in London, before moving to the West Country over 10 years ago to specialise in claimant injury cases. She handles all types of clinical negligence claims and specialises in claims involving the death of a patient and providing representation for relatives at Inquests.
Para-Legals

Elizabeth Williams is a Para-Legal. She is the new client coordinator and it is likely that Elizabeth will be the person with whom you will have an initial discussion about your case before it is allocated to one of the Solicitors in the Department. She also assists Simon Parford and the other members of the team with the day to day conduct of their cases.
