When Someone Dies
If a member of your family dies whilst receiving medical treatment, then an Inquest may be held. It is vitally important that you take legal advice before the Inquest.
Jill Burrows may be able to represent your interests at an Inquest and will explain the whole process to you. An Inquest is not designed to apportion blame but is a fact finding mission which can be helpful in giving you a greater understanding of how and why your loved one died.
A damages claim for bereavement may be brought after the Inquest, depending on the evidence which has come to light. It may also be possible for family members, who were financially dependent upon the deceased, to bring claims for loss of their dependency.
Jill Burrows will explain the nature of these claims to you.
