Head injury has an immediate impact on the patient whether the injury is severe or minor. The full extent of the injury can take years to become apparent. Symptoms vary from problems with memory and concentration to mood swings, personality changes and difficulties in planning, organising and problem solving, amongst others.
Spinal Cord injuries affect sensation and function, restricting movement to a greater or lesser extent. As a result many become wheelchair users and find that their bladder, bowel and sexual function can be affected.
