Biker Legal Line
Earlier this year Julian Nicholls was proposed and elected to the Committee of the British Motorcyclist Federation “Biker Legal Line” which is a service which provides initial free advice for motorcyclists in respect of virtually any problem connected with motorcycling.

The British Motorcyclist Federation is dedicated to promoting the interests of motorcyclist generally. Over the last 10 years I have pursued a large number of claims for compensation on behalf of motorcyclists injured in Road Traffic Accidents. My experience has taught me that motorcycle accidents are frequently far from straight forward, and that members of the public who do not ride motorcycles do not really have a proper understanding of the issues that are involved when an accident involving a motorcycle occurs.
I therefore believe that it is absolutely essential that anyone wishing to pursue a claim for compensation following a motorcycle accident should instruct a specialist motorcycle accident solicitor.
Many riders have the benefit of legal expenses insurance. Whilst this is not a bad thing, unfortunately, many riders will simply accept the solicitor nominated for them by their legal expenses insurance company. In my experience, many of these solicitors do not ride motorcycles themselves and therefore do not have a proper understanding of the issues that are involved. This may lead to the rider either being under compensated, or indeed receiving no compensation at all. In the past I have taken over the cases of several motorcyclists who have been unhappy with the service and advice that they have received from a non-motorcycling solicitor.
I would like to remind all riders that they are perfectly free to choose their own solicitor and do not simply have to accept the solicitor that is offered to them by their insurance company. I am always happy to represent motorcyclists on a “no win no fee” basis. If for any reason it proves impossible for me to recover compensation for you then I will not send you a bill for the work that I have done on your behalf. On the other hand, if the claim is successful, then I will settle your claim on the basis that as well as paying you the compensation that has been agreed the insurance company will also pay my firm’s charges for dealing with the claim on your behalf. I do not make deductions from my client’s compensation in respect of legal costs.
